Governors’ Information and Duties

Chair of Governors

Welcome to our Governors’ section

Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.

School Governors are a group of committed people across our community working to support Radbrook Primary School and ensure every child feels happy, safe and secure and receives the best education possible.

The Governing Body is essential to the effective running of the school, which is a rewarding way to make a difference to the lives of our children. Governors set the overall direction of the school, act as a critical friend and are responsible for the school budget. We work through meetings, committees and visits to the school. Governors also constructively challenge school leaders to ensure we best meet the needs of all of our children.

Our Governing Body are a group of committed people from our local community, who bring with them:

  • An interest in our children’s future
  • Time, energy and enthusiasm
  • A desire to make a difference
  • Specific skills and knowledge
  • A willingness to accept responsibility
  • An ability to work as a team
  • An eagerness to ask questions, listen & learn

We also receive information and advice to help us in our role – and full training is provided.

From time to time we have vacancies on our Governing Body. If you feel you have what it takes to be part of our team working to achieve the best for our children we would be pleased to hear from you!
